Started Reading Mike Lupica's Miracle of 49th Street

       I just started reading Miracle of 49th Street today and it is not what i expected. I interpreted it to be like most sports books with a boy who is on a team and over comes an obstacle to win some special game and that is what's considered the miracle. But this started off on a completely different track right from the beginning. It starts off with a little girl named Molly narrating which you later find out is twelve years old. This is already a little different from sports books. Then the girl starts to talk about her life. She's spent her whole life wih her Mom in London. She never met her father until now when she moves to Boston. When she moves to America her mother ends up dieing of cancer. No she's put into a situation where she wants to find her real dad. Molly's mother before she died left Molly a bunch of letters to talk to her about her father.

    In these letters Jen (Molly's Mother) tells Molly about an affair she had when she was back in college with a man who is now an NBA star for the Boston Celtics. This is where the sports comes in to play but still way different than what I expected for one of Lupica's books. But now Molly either has to find a way meet her biological father or be raised in a foster home without any parents. What would you do?
